ShopVisor AI Tools
AI-powered tools that turn retail data into revenue.
ShopVisor turns retail's own data standard — ARTS — into AI tools you can run inside the AI assistant your team already uses. Each one starts from a real problem in buying, connecting, or running retail systems, and ends with a decision you can defend — for the three audiences who live these problems: retailers, product companies, and integrators/consultants.
What are the ShopVisor Tools?
The ShopVisorTools are AI tools for retail technology decisions that work inside the AI assistant your team already uses (via the Model Context Protocol). They help you build vendor evaluation criteria, score RFP responses, record and defend the decision, look up the retail data model in plain English, map how systems connect, and explore how retail really works — every answer grounded in ARTS, the retail industry's data standard.
What is ARTS?
ARTS — the Association for Retail Technology Standards, part of the National Retail Federation — is the retail industry's standards body. For more than 30 years it has defined the shared data language retail systems run on, including POSLog (the standard for point-of-sale transaction data) and the retail Operational Data Model, now stewarded by the Object Management Group. ShopVisor's tools are built directly on ARTS, so every answer is grounded in the standard your systems already speak — not generic AI guesswork.
Know before you buy.
Evaluation Criteria Builder
Vendor demos all look great, and most RFPs get graded on an ad-hoc checklist that changes from deal to deal — so when you pick a system, you can't fully defend why. This builds your evaluation on a published, standards-based set of criteria for a POS system: exactly what to require and how much each factor should count, grounded in the retail industry's data standards (ARTS). Every vendor is measured against the same objective yardstick, and your shortlist holds up when the CFO asks why.
Approach: Build every evaluation on one shared, standards-based set of criteria — not a checklist you rebuild each deal.
- Retailers
- Compare vendors on identical, defensible criteria — no more apples-to-oranges scorecards.
- Product companies
- Know exactly what you'll be judged on before you write a single answer.
- Integrators & consultants
- Bring one consistent, standards-based evaluation to every client engagement.
POS available now. More system types on the way.
RFP Response Scoring
Reading and comparing dozens of vendor RFP responses is slow, subjective, and hard to defend — two reviewers rarely land on the same ranking. This scores each response against your evaluation criteria and gives you a clear rank, the reasoning behind every score, and the exact source each one is based on. The result: a defensible shortlist in a fraction of the time, with the receipts to back it up.
Approach: Turn incomparable vendor prose into consistent, cited scores you can stand behind.
- Retailers
- Cut RFP review time and bias — every score traces back to the standard.
- Product companies
- Get specific feedback on where your response is strong and where it's thin.
- Integrators & consultants
- Defend your recommendation to stakeholders with cited, repeatable scores.
POS scoring is fully tuned. More system types are being added.
Decision Record
After weeks of scoring and demos, you still have to justify the pick to your CFO or board — and the reasoning is scattered across spreadsheets, emails, and someone's memory. This assembles one board-ready record: the vendor you chose, the evidence behind each criterion, the risks still open, and where the uncertainty lies. The result: an auditable paper trail that makes the decision easy to defend now and easy to revisit later.
Approach: Turn a pile of scores and notes into one clear record of what you decided and why.
- Retailers
- Walk into the board meeting with the decision already justified.
- Product companies
- See the full, evidence-based rationale behind a selection.
- Integrators & consultants
- Hand clients an auditable decision trail, not just a recommendation.

Submit Correction
When one of your experts overrules a score, that hard-won judgment usually disappears into a hallway conversation — and the next evaluation makes the same mistake. This captures the correction and the reasoning behind it, then feeds it back so scoring in that part of retail gets sharper over time. The result: your team's expertise compounds instead of evaporating.
Approach: Feed expert overrides back in so the scoring keeps improving where it matters to you.
- Retailers
- Your team's judgment makes every future evaluation better.
- Product companies
- Scoring reflects real expert feedback, not a frozen model.
- Integrators & consultants
- Encode your firm's hard-won expertise into sharper future evaluations.

Connect without the debt.
ARTS Data-Model Lookup
When you're mapping data between retail systems, the answer to "what does this field actually mean?" is buried in dense technical schemas and PDFs — so mapping drags on and mistakes slip through. Ask for any field in the retail data standard and get its plain-English definition, what it connects to, and a link to the exact source. The result: data questions resolved in seconds, with an answer you can trust and trace.
Approach: Make the retail data standard instantly searchable instead of hunting through technical documents.
- Retailers
- Answer data-mapping questions in seconds, in plain language.
- Product companies
- Check your product against the official definition, not someone's interpretation.
- Integrators & consultants
- Trace every field back to its standard definition and source during mapping.
Integration Point Mapping
You don't find out how hard two retail systems are to connect until you're deep in the project and the budget's already committed. This lays out exactly where two systems connect — what data flows, in which direction, and where the risk is — before you scope the work. The result: accurate estimates and known risks up front, instead of surprises and change orders later.
Approach: Surface the real connection points and their risks before you scope an integration.
- Retailers
- Scope integration projects accurately, with the risks visible up front.
- Product companies
- Show how your product connects, backed by the standard rather than marketing claims.
- Integrators & consultants
- Estimate effort and flag risk before writing a line of mapping.
Extract revenue from day one.
